Working for the community
We are all proud of our College’s heritage as the first community college in England and remain committed to working to the benefit of our local and wider community.
The College works hard to ensure its Adult Education programme has a wide range of courses for the local community and is always looking to develop its provision in innovative and exciting ways. A Microsoft IT Academy member, the College also offers Microsoft Office Specialist Certification as part of its Adult Education programme. Sawston Adult Education courses are further supplemented by the activities on offer at Sawston Sports Centre.
Run by young people from the College, Sawston Cinema offers opportunities for the community to enjoy film screenings locally. Sawston Cinema is supported by an arts development manager at the College who, under the district-wide umbrella of stART, works to champion new and existing arts initiatives in the community.
